Requirements Before Booking
- An FCC Registration Number (FRN), preferably registered with an email address other than Gmail (see the Gmail notice below).
- The same email address must be used to book, pay and register.
- The $15 examination fee is non-refundable; it is forwarded to the ARRL VEC.
- Candidates must read the online testing overview and the instructions before booking.
Date of Birth
Enter your date of birth to display the applicable session times. This step is optional.
Your date of birth remains on your device. It is not sent to PARC or to Calendly and is not stored. It is used once, in your browser, to determine which times to display.
Available times: few several many — select a day to view its times.
This calendar combines all PARC examination calendars, with duplicate start times merged. Selecting a time opens the Calendly booking form in a new tab, where current availability is confirmed.
Notices Before Booking
Gmail users must update the email address on their FRN before booking. FCC emails regarding the application fee are frequently not delivered to Gmail accounts, including to spam and junk folders. The FCC allows only 10 days for payment; after that period, it dismisses the application and the examination session is canceled. Once an application has been submitted, PARC examiners generally cannot resolve a missed FCC payment notice. Ensure that the FRN is registered with an email address other than Gmail before booking.
Candidates must be fully prepared. Read the instructions and the FAQ before the examination. A candidate who is not ready when admitted is returned to the waiting room, and the next candidate is admitted. A second occurrence requires booking a new examination.
Examination slots begin every 5 minutes. Most candidates finish in approximately 10 minutes; allow 15 minutes for the examination after setup. These figures are for planning purposes and are not time limits. Requests for additional time must be emailed before booking.
After Booking
A registration link is emailed within 48 hours and must be completed immediately. The Zoom link is emailed at least 45 minutes before the examination, and candidates join 45 minutes early. Prepare the room, computer and second device in the meantime.
